Not gonna say its the best method, but it does free your hands if you got a bunch of loops to layer in the sequence.

I usually use the loop method to sketch out what I want before I record it.

This is no JJ friendly machine, wished it was. Its in love with Akai's quirky ways.

Check in Program mode the the pad you want to loop is set to "note on" instead of "one shot". It works for me!
