dont buy any tables unless there 1200s why waste money buying something else you wont like later

Vestax PDX 2000 are just as solid as 1200s yet more versatile. However if you plan on DJing out on the regular it's good to work on the 1200's cos that's what most of the clubs use.

the numark ttx is ill we have it on the 4000. it has all the ill stuff and no ground so it will work with anything no mixer. even though the 4000 has the option anyway

the ttx is the tops, but the stanton str8-100 is dope and has many of the ttx features.

heads up on the TTX though: when you tempo or pitch shift on it, it introduces digital artifacts into your outputs(sounds like an extremely short digital delay). It is a sore point on an otherwise great peice of gear.

vestax tables have higher torque then techs but the construction makes them prone to unwanted vibrations. hence the reason why they have not replaced the 1200 in clubs. c'mon, do you think 1000 dollars on some new decks is much for a club? they take in enough on the bar 1/2 the night to buy new ones. The reason 12's are still up top is because they dont absorb unwanted vibrations and noise, and the wow and flutter is superior. The motor may not be as strong in 1200's but the motor is more consistent, the speed does NOT fluctuate unlike the vestax decks. Try a test. blast your speakers near the vestax then drop the needle and dont start the record, then just go into the next room and use headphones to monitor the vestax's output, you will hear the rumble.
the chassis of the vestax's are poorly insulated and this is one of the reasons they recalled the older models, and they still didnt fix it. If you listen to the vestax dj comp's you can hear the poorly insulated decks on there too.
The reason there are so many 1200's knockoff is that their patents on their technology expired in the 90's and then everyone and theit mom started knocking it off. (gemini) just go there and pick them up the vestax feels like a toy as do all the other TT's out there. the only one that feels solid (think solid like the mpc compared to other samplers) is the sl 1200.

yeah man, other then the unwanted noises they are cool. THe problem is they are made for scracthing and unless you got em well insulated then you hear all kinda anomalies whien you cut, how whack.
PS all the str8 arm ones are good for is that they provide more skip resisiatnce. the str8 arm actually provides worse sound quality then an s shaped arm, but in cutting the overall sound quality isnt important as long as your cuts dont get messed up by vibrations.
Id say the best deck right now besides the 12's is that new numark one, the one with a non plastic chassis that is well insulated and has mad features for 100 dollars less then 12's or a vestax.
cop em now, 1200 prices are going up. Did you know that tech. 1200's have one of the lowest markup sin the audio game? as in the price to a dealer for a trition. is nowehre near the 2g's they charge you, they pay like 1100 max for one.
a 1200 cost you 499 new and the dealer pays like 380 for it new. basically the 1200 is still a pain to assemble and is mad durable as a result of the manufacturing process which has changed little since the 70's, this is why the 12's last so long, the parts and all the means of making it are 70's era, back when we DID NOT engineer gear to break every year. The SL 1200 has a indefinite shelf life, since any part that breaks is easily repairable. there are parts in numark tables that if it breaks, it will cost you almost as much to buy a new one as to fix your old one. whack. I got a 1200 from back int he day that has a switch instead of a button for on/off
