thread1 wrote:Use the following in logic:
Arrange Window >>> Audio >>> Detect Tempo
Sample Editor >>> Factory >>> Time & Pitch Machine
You can then you can use flex to look at the transient markers and align them with the Bars at the top of the arrange window.
I saw you are using fades to get the cross fade affect - this is one way to do the crossfading. Another (better) method would be to use Automation
To further enhance your mixes checkout resources on flex editing and slicing.
This should get you started.
thread2 wrote:Here's one way:
1. Import your first song onto an audio track.
2. Adjust the region so it starts on the first beat.
3. Use the BPM Counter plugin to find the tempo. Set the Logic BPM to the same.
4. Turn on Flex time for this track and select Speed (this will mimic using normal turntables to speed up or slow down a track).
5. Repeat 1-4 for the next track.
6. Your tracks should then all be playing at the same tempo and you can mix with them as you would on turntables...
7. Use EQ to mimic a DJ mixer. Use the Logic tempo to vary the speed of your DJ set.
Once you have finished your mix bounce it down. You can then cut this into regions and export them separately so you have an MP3 for each track if that's what you want. If you are making a CD it would be better to keep the file as an AIFF or WAV and use WaveBurner to split the tracks and burn the CD.
