2000xl going into matrix

i turn my 2000xl on and the screen starts flippin out going into matrix mode numbers and letters all over the screen...has any heard or had this done ??and if so is there a way to remedy the situation?? help will be greatly appreciated

that to me sounds like a ram issue... open up the bottom plate and take out the ram sticks... then before putting the plate back on.. flip it back over and plug it back in so you can turn it on again just to see if it happens again.

then if it doesn't happen again, put the sticks back in. try it again.. if it happens again, try with just one stick.. then if it happens take that one out and try the other stick.

It may be bad ram.

It's a failing CPU or MB, it's happened to others.

well he messaged me saying he just got a replacement main board from MPC stuff and this is what it's doing. I told him to unplug the 8 outs if he has it, the zip drive, and disconnect the ram ... then start it up to see what it will do....

hopefully he didn't get a faulty main board from them though.
