Problem with my soundcard

I have a problem when i'm recording with my soundcard. I uploaded something i recorded so you can hear the problem here:

I got my turntable and my mpc connected to a mixer, which goes into my soundcard(M-audio quattro). If anyone had a similar problem and has a solution... Thanks

hmm, that sounds sort of like buffer clicking.. in the latency area of the sound options turn the buffer rate latency time to a higher setting...

but it sounds actually more like a soundcard conflict... make sure no other programs are using the soundcard.. (close your vlc media player or firefox window that has a video that has been paused for 10 hours..)

I usually record everything with audacity, I tried to record with reaper and it seems that it works fine so i guess the problem comes from audacity.

hey, maybe you should go to the audacity website and download the latest version. Also, make sure in the settings that you have the right sound card chosen.

(I didn't listen to the sound file you posted, but) I use M-Audio Quattro too! I use it with my kind of old MacBook Pro with OS X 10.6.8. Despite it is an old driver, it works as it should.
I'd avoid the clipping to happen by connecting Quattro only. If there are other USB devices connected on the same USB bus, take those out. In fact, unplug as many USB devices as possible to see whether it improve the situation.
Also, don't use USB hub, Quattro should be directly connected to your PC's USB port.

Other (very) important thing, make sure to match sampling bitrate & Hz that system (OS) use and your application use. If they don't, application has to re-convert bitrate & Hz during recording.

I installed the latest version audacity, it seems to work, I guess the problem comed from audacity
