aftermarket white screen vs. blue screen from mpc stuff.

so i have the blue screen installed on my 2500, and am thinking about getting a white screen, although i dont want it to be too bright for long sessions.

have any of you used both of them? if you have used the white one (from mpcstuff) do you have any complaints about the brightness of the screen?

i just dont want it to be super bright white like staring at an LED light all day or something.

Really can't tell you for sure as I have not seen it in person, but from reading posts and seeing pictures it does seem fairly bright compared to the others.

It does also have a slight blue 'tinge' to it, probably due to the frequency of light from the liquid refraction.

MPC Stuff also has this 'black' one which is basically the white one but inverted (So light text on dark background), but they seem to be sold out/backordered on the site. I think the black one looks a lot better and it seems like it would be better in both light and dark conditions, not to mention less eyestrain. The black one also suffers from this slight bluish grey tinge.

thanks kardus, i was also looking at the black one but it costs like 30 bucks more! maybe i'll just go with that if i get one though.

LOVE my white screen 2 years later. Looks much doper than the blue, and hasn't caused any problems on the eyes.

Just contacted MPC stuff, they said they would have the black one around May.

thats good to know, even if your working in low light situations?

i too have been using the white screen for a while... a few people had said it was "bright white" so i was worried at first when i ordered it, but it's been real easy on the eyes... possibly even better than staring at the original green screen. i haven't ever had the blue screen though, so i can't make the comparison between those two... but the white one is nice.

Looks good! I think I'm going to go with the 'blacked out' theme for mine so I will look into getting a black (preferably) or white screen. Might wait until MPC stuff gets them in May, providing the price is right!

I have a white in my 1000 and a black in my 2500. I like them both but the brightness on the white one is a little high. Not a deal breaker though. It's bright to the point that top q-link button when not engaged looks like it's on with a white led underneath. Obviously not an issue on Crossings 2500 with the hinged mount and nowhere for the light to bleed to. I would rate the black slightly higher for clarity and off angle views, but I'm my no means mad at the white one.

Thanks for your input. I think I'm leaning towards the black one for sure now. I don't mind waiting a few months though (getting my 2500 mpc sometime next week).

I think I'll search a bit and see if I can find any cheaper alternatives to the mpc-stuff ones. Does anyone know of any suppliers that have these lcds with the correct ribbon cable etc.? Or any info indication what lcd I might need?

Check older threads here with "1000 LCD" and Nym's name. If I recall he and others were sourcing alternate screens way back.

cool thanks for the input, i'd like one on my 1k if i get one, thats good to know about the bleed through.

maybe ill wait and get a black one too.

do you think the white one would look cool with purple LEDs?
