I'm trying to record sounds from reason into my mpc. I have a toneport 2 with 4 1/4 inch cables runing from the interface to the mpc (audio outs and ins). I also have a midi cable from mpc (midi in) to my Mac. I have my midi controller (ozone) USB to Mac and midi out from ozone to midi in on the mpc.
I don't have a mixer.
Anyone see anything wrong here?
Can't get it to work.
Is there an easier way to use reason with an mpc and midi controller?

This is a workaround but likely easier. Just bounce your Reason sounds by moving the loop markers and muting tracks and just load them in the 1000 over CF card or USB to your CF. Recording them live in the 1000 won't really change the sounds like a 60/3000 or to a much lesser degree 2000/XL.

What you described sounds like it should work. Although I don't know if that Ozone can work over USB and MIDI cables at the same time. Perhaps your interface has a control panel with a mixer and you need to set the output of the interface there. But no you shouldn't require a mixer for what you want to do.

Its very simple syncing with reason 6.

First question, what do you wanna trigger you sounds with in Reason, the mpc or the ozone,

second why do you want your reason sounds in the mpc when reason 6 does audio tracking?

either way, once you answer the first question I can set you up no problem

Trying to trigger the sounds using the ozone. I got the mpc triggering the sounds fine.

I want to track the drums and samples on the mpc then add bass and a few other sounds in reason.
Im still learning the basics in reason and already kinda know the mpc so i was going to stick with that. Is there a better way to sync the mpc with reason?
Using the mpc as a controller in reason? How wound you do it?

Thanks for the help

just run the midi out of the mpc into your soundcard and set it as a master in reason, make your beats in the mpc as you would then track them out into reason, there is no reason to have the midi out on the ozone connected to the mpc, just run the usb on it to the mac, and set it up in reason as a midi controller, use it to add whatever reasons you want in the song right there in reason.

to make the mpc master in reason go to "options" "Snyc" and select "midi clock" in reason
