some noob questions

hey there folks i just got this mpc 1000 and was having some problems.
i know how to chop samples and shit on fruity loops and make beats from there but im trying to do the same and more on the mpc but i keep running into problems. heres my setup, mpc 1000 jj os 3.13, fruity loops 10, korg axiom 49, usb/midi and studio headphones

1. im having trouble coping patterns. Like say i wanna use the drum loop on sequence 1 and carry it to sequence 2 without having to remake the entire pattern. is there any way to do that?

2. say i have a pattern on sequence 1 and its 2 bars. is there any way to loop the 2 bars and make the sequence 4 bars without having to remake the pattern?

3. how can i chop a sample and get it to match the tempo? like in fruity loops i can just timestretch a sample to 2 beats or 1 bar or watever. in the mpc the timestretch funtion is kind of a joke.

4. how do i add effects to my drum patters like reverb?

5. is it possible to send patterns, with the same bpm made on fruity loops to the mpc?

6. what does it mean to have your mpc be the analog and fruity loops digital?

What's up homie I'm new to the MPC like yourself and like Lamp said the manual or Pdf will be your best friend and will ultimately save you time. Just do like I did, sit down with the manual and go page by page with the MPC and you will find all your answers. It's not terribly complex so you should be up and running in no time. Peace.....

Remember the manual will only give you the functions of the machine. Technique and how to implement your vision is ALL you.

In order to get your beats going you'll need to know the functions of the machine, THEN you can really get busy.

I am new as well...reading your questions, I think you would highly benefit from the "Beat Making on the MPC 1000" tutorial sold by the makers of this forum.

I was hesitant to spend $50 on a tutorial, but it got great reviews so I figured what the hell.

The reviews were correct. It is worth every penny.

Here is what you do. Read the regular manual. That will get you familiar with the hardware and it's functions. Then, get the Beat Making tutorial. Start at the very beginning and just work through each tutorial, in order, as though you are taking an MPC class. The tutorial will teach you how to practically make use of the hardware and functions that the manual went over.

Be patient and do this and I guarantee that you will be happy that you took the time. I was (actually...I still have about 25% of the tutorial to go through myself).

nah nah nah its not like that
i can make beats its just i ran into a few snags i only had the mp for like a month so you know im still learnin

i already figured them out tho pretty simple shit after messing with it the seq edit button that wasnt that hard
i wana read that manual too but damn its just so many pages lol i mean if u know a lil about making music then some of the features are kind self explanitory but u know im still kinda getting used to the layout nah mean


rite now im tryin to find protools on the net lol
the torrents aint workin but its good
i wana put all my tracks on ptools then mix em since i cant im kinda limited on the mpc

couldnt figure out how to work fruity loops into it but its coo

and hey bud see ur new to the mp too
