HELLO EVERYONE, JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE TRYED USING A USB DISCONNECT SWITCH FOR THE MPC 5000? I WOULD LIKE TO USE IT AS A USB ON OFF SWITCH. FIGURE IT WOULD BE COOL VS UNPLUGGING THE USB CABLE. DONT ASK ME WHY I PREFER TO DO SO, ITS BECAUSE I CAN.

I'm sorry, I have to ask you why you prefer to do that.

If it's just one mpc you're using- why do you need to unplug the USB cable at all? Even if you leave your USB cable in, it's not sending/receiving data unless you're in load mode and accessing the drive via USB at that particular moment, atleast that's how my 1000 is. In this scenario, your mpc should already have a "USB Disconnect Switch" included, right?

That seems cool. I hate taking out the cord every time I'm done doing a transfer. I wish somebody could write a script like JJ to put an end to this.

Thanks for pointing that out. At least I know its not a bug, and just annoying. I got rid of my 2500 for a 5000 and I am slowly starting to think this was not the best choice. Nobody has tried to answer any of my other help questions. It would be much appreciated if you could take a look at my trouble posts. If I could find an answer to a few of my roadblocks, this would be a much happier experience for me so to speak lol. Recording and overwriting pad mutes has been an issue, and i see no purpose of the pad cycle mode if once you record it, the arrangement changes everytime play start is pressed. Shouldnt it maintain whatever you recorded into the unit? My high hopes for that feature were shattered yesterday when I realized this. But maybe there is a way to have it record what you actually play...
