according to that this part works too - STEC12E07 - ALPs also make them, much cheaper than mpcstuff too. will post back when i get round to installing

Mpc-stuff has been out of stock of the right sided pcb and rotary encoders for many months now. They don't even have an option to click on back-order the item anymore which is a very bad sign. Goto vst that is where I got mine for 10 dollars plus shipping which comes to around 18 dollars I believe. My encoder is still good(knock on wood) but I got one just because I have had such hard trouble for a long time trying to find any and I stumbled across them so I bought one and now that I think about it I should have stockpiled those buggers and bought 2 or 3 lol. It is sad that we have to worry about replacing these things so soon. The mpc 4000 I had the original encoder on it and it was from 2001 and it lasted until 2011. 10 years try and find a mpc 1000 or 2500 that does that. The thing I do not understand is why akai does not make these and the right sided pcb's readily available? Another thing that is weird is that mpc-stuff carries the rotary encoder replacements for the discontinued mpc 4000 but not for the current line mpc 1000 how f'n backwards is that. PFFFF , it makes me sooooo ANGRY!
