The boot screen is a fixed data set in ROM. The display does not process this from the MPC and does not "participate" in the normal data flow.

If the screen stops at the mpcstuff.com splash screen, check the ribbon cable - it's probably not seated correctly on one end.

Ok, people - we know there is a problem with random lock-ups.

We are working on it and believe we have a solution. Our beta tester will receive the newest firmware this week and will begin testing ASAP.

We are a small company. I am the owner and I have two contracted engineers working for me, part time. To say that this is a garage operation would be exactly right. I work out of a garage apartment in North Dayton (Ohio). And only after 6PM. I work a day job, too! Crazy - I know. We're doing our best to be responsive to your needs. We didn't know that it locked up until we got a "power user" on board to tell us what's broken.

Trust me when I say that we absolutely rely on your feedback and criticism. We're not some big, slow-moving company that doesn't care. We're home-grown and absolutely care about making it right.

We've got a new project in the pipeline - an upgraded version of the display. It's way faster, doesn't lag and...has a feature you won't believe - VGA OUTPUT.

To say it's the cream of the crop would be an understatement. It will cost more, but offers something NOBODY else has. Stay tuned!

While there can be hiccups with any product that comes out, and there are a few frustrated folks right now, I don't think anyone's doubting that y'all will do what it takes to make things right. Keep up the professional communication and good work.



Now, where's the announcement for the 3000 VGA output?

Sure man. I just need to A) Buy one or B) Get someone to tell me what the chip numbers are on the back of the screen. They're made by OKI.

Yes, a program is being developed to do this.

Also sounds really cool to me, wondering how cool it would also be to have on the MPC4k, actually I saw on an old mpc ad that it was an advertised feature.. wonder if the circuitry is actually there, and only needs a VGA connector soldered in.

Sent my LCD to mpcstuff to be reflashed not long ago..
Arrived yesterday.. very fast turnaround, . Haven't upacked it yet, but I'll try to install it tomorrow.. look forward to seeing how it performs...

These guys have been working hard. I was sent a replacement and it's much better than the originals. My mpc still Locked up only twice and I do have a "noise" issue at times making the screen fuzzy. I just adjust the angle and I goes away. All in all I'm satisfied but hope they get them perfected!

So in other words you are still having issues even with the newer version screen?

I'm still having issues but not nearly
As bad as the first "new screen" they sent me. So progress is being made. The envision screen is better than my original screen even with the glitches. My screen barely freezes now, and the only issues are more or less irritating but don't keeps from being productive unlike my busted screen that I couldn't do anything on.
