In order to play catch up, you have to be behind. NI's Maschine has been on the market for 3 years now and it still can't accomplish basic tasks that a 10 year old MPC can accomplish. From what I have seen from the MPC Ren (even in beta), NI better come correct with either an OS update or revamp the Maschine hardware. Otherwise, Maschine will fade like Kore/Kore 2...or the Roland MV series. Yes, remember the MV series. Everyone thought Akai's days were numbered. Only after being on the market for approx 5 years, 2 models later...Roland folded.
but here the thing ive said peeps dissing ren and maschine because it does not facilitate arcane featuresets.
again the example is cats dissin machine cos it does not have a floppy drive? certain features that a 10 year old mpc has are redundant hence why companies aint **** with that shit now.

The 10 year old plus features I am talking about are contained in nearly every sampling workstation (new or old)...with the exception of Maschine. But this has beeen discussed many times over...in numerous feature requests in these forum and the NI forum. And NI has even acknowledge that many of these features are on their development plan.
The MPC Ren is projected to address some of these issues day 1.

I know, he's taking it easy and at his own pace. At his age, that will be in about 3 years from now.

Funny that, seeing as it's not a sampler!
