SCSI on Rack Samplas

Heyo

So, I have an external Iomega, and the cable which is accompanying it is of a different sort than what would plug into the back of the samplers I have.

Both my a4k and s5k have these smaller and denser plug areas.

Do I need a new cable that converts?

Yes. Either a cable or a converter. Whatever you can find that will work in your budget/setup.

Syntaur has a useful page that will help you learn the correct terminology and types for SCSI connectors. Knowing what the connector ends are called will help you in finding the correct cable for your setup.

Since you didn't post which Iomega drive you have, I can't give you an exact link to what you need. But my guess is that you need something like this:

There are other cables for sale one eBay, Newegg, Amazon,etc. but this should be more than enough info to improve your search.

your sampler has a scsi 1 (big 50 pin) or scsi 2 (smaller 50 pin) port and your drive likely has a db25 connections. Id just get a cable but sometimes some cables are suspect with some samplers.

I actually decided to use an internal zip 100 drive in my a4k, and use a floppy and eventually a hard drive in the akai s5k.
