I saw some youtube vids and it seems pretty cool and seems just like maachine but only 1 midi in and 1 out and no piano roll. Can u export allyour sounds as stems?

You need to do a bit more research into buying stuff - so its less of a jump to make the most of stuff you're lucky enough to get.

And for the record - the beat thang ? I wouldn't trust that piece of shit to import sounds without **** something up.
For what you're looking for - I'd seriously suggest an mpc 2500 and JJOS.

Making the most of second/third best > buying the best and leaving the manual unopened.

I really dnt mind th etracking out in fact im actaully doning this 3 times longer now this is how. I mix in pro tools cant make beats in pro tools cause only 2 usb ports one for ilock and one for external hd with drum samples in it. So i make beats in logic with external midi so im basically tracking out every sound i use and then after a entire beat is done i have to label each sound and export each sound and then import in pro tools to arrange so why now just track into pro tools the first time right.

P.s. In the jjos are u able to sample on the fly while the sequence is playing cause i have a korg r3 that cant save seq so i gotta save those sounds some how.

thee jjos's workflow is flawless ( well, u kno, thats just my opinion )... but if u have or already had an 1000, i doesn't hurt to give it a 2nd try... trust mi !

Well the pads on the 1000,2500 and stiff as hell and the 1000 jog wheel and buttons felt like they were about to break and like i said i waa turned off by it not loading 24bit samples and my stock is mixed them. Maschines pads were way better and the wirkflow was better only because i atayed on it and learned the neccasary functions i always needed and used. Alot of the youtube vids of the jjosxl were very cool like pitch shift and time stretch in realtime= very nice but cant this be done after your chops have been assigned and pattern layed out already or just when sampling. Of course non destructive editing is bomb and this is why i think for sure im gonna get the 25k. The one thing that i gotta figure out is how to sample a very large sample and still use it and not max out on ram so quick or find a way to delete it from ram after i laid the seq down. I guess i can delete it after i tracked in pro tools but not sure.

you can get aftermarket pads for the 2500 or the 1k, or any mpc, or even maschine on mpcstuff.com

if you dont like the pads on the 1k, you wont probably like them on the 2500 either, but the aftermarket pads are softer, and they come in more colors too.

And thats exactly what im gonna do new pads,black screen,new faceplate,knobs and the 128 ram.

the only aftermarket pads that are actually "softer" are the black ones... not sure why that is... but i've had black, clear, and glow in the dark pads... and all the other ones feel identical to the original pads to be honest.

But seriously the 25k,,1000 pads blow but the 4000 has very good pads.

I agree on the black being the only "soft" ones. The most recent set I got are actually the softest I've seen. Like as soft as the decade+ dark greys they replaced on one of my XL's. What's really odd is I ordered from VST thinking I'd get sharp cornered slightly darker Akai OEM joints. When I opened the VST box the pads were stamped MPCstuff.

Well get yourself a NI Mikro. You obviously will be held back with an MPC. Why make life hard on yourself.

I'm with Ill Green here. Even just off the OP mentioning most of his sounds are 24 bit. I have to convert so often I think I might just learn to tolerate my 4000's fan noise and use it full time.

Any nice software/controller combo (geist/padkontrol/modded pad MPD etc.) is going to cost more than Mikro.

If it is an MPC I agree with the 2500/JJOS recommendations. Every time a 5000 dips near a grand that's more $700-$800 2500's.
