Has anyone tried syncing their ipad to their MPC and if so can anyone explain how?. Like to use the iPad as a sound module to trigger on the MPC.

Do some Google searches on "Core MIDI iOS apps". This is the key to what you want to achieve.
First the app must support the iOS Core MIDI standard. In most cases these apps can send and receive MIDI to and from external devices, in this case an MPC. You need to have a way for the physical MIDI connection to take place with cables. There are a few options here.
The cheapest and most basic way is to purchase an Apple Camera Connection Kit. The kit includes a dock to standard USB adapter. Then you will need a "class compliant" USB to MIDI interface. Class compliant simply means the device can be run with no driver install, important on iOS as you don't have drivers like in Windows or OS X. A fancy way of saying "plug and play" really.
There are USB to MIDI interfaces out there that are a small box and a cord or just a cord with the necessary USB plug and 2 MIDI 5 pin DIN plugs for the in and out to the external hardware. I believe the MIDI interface must be USB 1.1 as I'm not sure the dock on an iOS device has enough juice for USB 2.0 power requirements.
From there it's just a matter of the app you want to use in a sound module context having the Core MIDI functionality built in, and most of the top apps do. There are other methods to control apps like OSC and wifi MIDI but you just need the basic MIDI in the case of the MPC.
