But seriously the 25k,,1000 pads blow but the 4000 has very good pads.

nothing wrong with the sensor, it's just that the engineers in their limited wisdom left a gap between the sensor and the rubber pad. fill that with silicone and you've got the same thing.

I used the MPC 3000 and 2000XL prior to buying the MPC 2500. I never had any issues with the MPC 2500 pads nor did I find them inferior to any other MPCs.

The MPC 4000 felt to me like something was off. Whether it was the timing (I still heavily quantize drums) or the pads..something did feel quite right to me..a feeling I never had with these other MPCs.

I actually had the 4000 as well but there was too much of a learning curve and the sampling was beyond me. I also had trouble loading samples and naming tracks was so dam slow with using the data wheel even tho I know u can use a usb keybaord but I didnt have one. I sold the 4000 for 750 but being on it was a so real inspiration and the feel was anazing being on something dedicated to just music and no internet or lag if ram issues. So yes maschine is fun and is a beast in its own enviorment but its only as fast and strong as ur computer and im running on 40gb of hard drive and with 2g of ram on a old 2007 macbook. So im looking for that inspiration in hardware but try to get as close as I can to the same functions as software and the jjos seems to be the only thing. What akai needs to make is a new mpc that can save ur drums as played in pattern to a usb drive and just take that drive and import rhe files in your daw.

Okay all I did was actually look at the tutorial vids and it does seem like a usable machine with alot of features. I mean have u personally been on the beat thang and know its trash for sure? Just like anything in this world peoplw hate what they dont understand and have not givin it a try. I just find that it doesnt have enough midi and no assignable outputs besides this it looks good as far as features alot of jjos and maschine features in there.

Nearly all off-the-shelf PCs today are more than powerful enough to run Maschine. If you use a Mac, even more so as they seem to me more optimize for music production out the box IMHO.

Welll trust me its usually a gamble when I run vsts in stand alone but have never really done plug in before.

Im really driving myself nuts in this I need to sample and make some heat and it comes down to mikro,2500 jjos or 5000. I would love to wait for rennasance but ppl are saying mid summer and thats a dam long time for me just to wait around. oh and does anyone know if this jjos thing will keep getting updated or rumor that the 5000 will get it?

I am running Maschine on a PC (Intel Core i5, 2.4 gHz, Win 7 64 bit, 4 GB Ram). The only issues I have is that when I use a plugin like Mach Five 3 that has multi-GB patches, I can easily run out of memory. I ordered an additional 4 GB of memory..waiting for its arrilval.

What problems are you having exactly with Machine? Because just like all other software products, its the sum of your entire system that will dictate performance.

I want to note that when it comes to performance, comparing Maschine to an MPC should be done within the same context. Meanin....load Maschine with 512 MBs of samples and compare its performace to an MPC that has the same amount of sample data in memory.

That's because NI are seriously dragging their feet on making Maschine multicore and multithread capable. It literally will use 1/2 of the CPU on a dual, 1/4 on a quad and in my case 1/8 on a 8 core system. You are essentially being forced to run a fairly cpu demanding app (certainly hosting VST's it is) on the equivalent of a single core Pentium 4 from 7 years ago. Multicore was actually in a beta and worked fine for me, but NI said too many users had issues and removed it from the final release. If it's not in the 2.0 update I'm done with NI.

dmajor, JJ will NEVER be on the 5000. (He only has the original source code of the 1000/2500 to work from). Yes JJ consistently updates his OS, to the point he puts fully staffed software firms to shame.

You may want to just pick a platform and stick with it. If you are talented enough to make heat...you can accomplish it with any of these products. Don't buy these products and expect future updates. But it for what it can do today.

How I was accomplish the hits ive made was from maschines non destructive sampling and being able to sample entire songs. I sample entire songs cause if found crazy chops in places least expected and so if I wanted to do change ups with somwthing that was at the end of a sample instead of the beginning that was uses for the verse. In all this is what I must have

Non destructive sampleling
Able to sample while sequence is running
Able to sample large samples

I need to really find a way around the large sampling idea ia there any tips on this?

Buy Maschine. Unless you are partial to an MPCs workflow like many of us here, I can't see why you couldn't accomplish what you need on Maschine. While I prefer chopping on an MPC, Maschine does pretty much the same but without memory limitations.

I did all this with maschine but made a mistake of selling maschine when I heard about the rennasance coming out. But i needes a new interface(mout ultralite) more foam and some bx 5 speakers cause my krk 8s are too boomy for my small room. But looks like the only limitation is the ram but when I work with sample I dont work with kits so alot of drums are not neesws to be loaded. I fist would sample, chop, and then just choose one kick, one snare ans hi hat and thats it but I needed to audition first. workin with original beata is no problem with ram cause I just nees drums while me synths hold there sounds till tracking. But hopefully tracking is no problem and in sync
