Numark PT01

Has anyone tried this? Its belt driven so I dont know if its good for tracking..
Its cheap! (99 bucks) Its small so it would fit next to my 4k and its portable so I can take it when I go record hunting And it looks good to
But what about the arm and the needle? Are they stable? Can you switch the head or cell with a better one?

I cant find any reviews and the comment on the Numark site is rather limited.

pt01 is the way to go the belts are very torque driven so u can scratch with them fairly well....

The needle has a good freq response and it has a speaker built int for those days u cant find headphones or a speaker.,,

Can you switch the head and cell with another one? An Orthofon (Concorde) for example?

bro, for an extra 70 bucks (probably less depending on if u talk them down) you can get the numark tt-1650, these are direct drive, and will last a lot longer, believe me, these will make a complete world of difference. i still dont recommend if ur tryin to scratch on them tho.


there is no way u can scratch decent on the pt01, i dont care what anyone tells u. the only thing that would be good for is digging AND THAT'S ALL!!!!

if i were u, i would steer clear of numark products all together.

He just came over to maui for a vacation some guys got him to do an impromtu show and he busted out a pt01....
He scratched that thing like it was a technics made out of fire...

So u can say what u want...

But scratching is an artform... If you cant scratch on belt drivens then you get direct drives right... No...
U practice till you get it perfect then by the time you get direct drives you are a genius cause you dont have to apply as much pressure etc..

And steer clear of all numark products hahaha..

You said buy a numark tt-1650 then you say I woould steer clear of Numark...
To me the pt01 is the best bang for your buck and has the most options...
The vestax doesnt even have pitch control like the numark...

Numark can go from 38 45 78
plus 10% pitch and Hi and LO..

Ive had the PT01 for 3 or 4 months and its dope. The only thing i found that i dont like on it is no start/stop button. But thats just a priveledge i dont even need that. I sample all my vinyl off that. It runs off batteries and comes with a power adapter. Im fine with this. I dont know if its belt drive or not. It really feels like direct, but im not 100% sure. Either way, its really well built.

how big is it?

can u change the cartridges for it? or do you have to use the one that comes with it? and also what kinda connections does it have? rca's?

It has headphones rca and mini jack
ITs the size of a record it fits in a record case and its dope

The only problem is the shitty latch that keeps it closed, but you dont use that for playing records.

What I wonder is if the other types of needles got a diff. amount of electricity needed, but chances are the wires, once connected, will do the same thing.. just a hypothese
