Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Hey.. I've got a problem with loading songs/beats on my MPC 2000.

My zipdrive can load sounds and put it in the MPC2000 but when I load a song it says
SCSI Not ready ! ! This is very annoying because I can't load any beat.

This is what I do while loading a song:
I go to disk/load and after that i press DO IT at ALL_SEQ-SONG1 .ALL
Then the MPC says:
'This will replace all existing sequence & songs!' Then I press LOAD and it says: Loading. . . . After a few seconds it says SCSI Not ready ! !

I have my device on SCSI-5

Does anyone knows how I can fix this problem?

maybe try a new zip disk and format it in the mpc... then see if it does it with that disk.

Hmm thanks for your help but it didn't work:(
I formatted another zip disk but it still won't load. When i try to load a song the tempo changes to MAS and normally it is on SEQ.. It's weird. Also when i go to SHIFT SONG it says: Song: 01-**************************.

I want to have a long term relation ship with my MPC2000 so I need to know how to fix this ..

I dont know what to tell you beyond.... **** zip disks.. they fail, and when they do... you lose more than one beat.

I think I should buy a card reader, I just read other topics on this forum..
Maybe I can save beats on a 1.44MB floppy disk right now until I have a card reader.

yeah use the floppy disk drive until you can cough up enough cash to get a SCSI compactflash reader.
