MPC controlling video.

I was thinking about doing some live gigs with my MPC 1000.

I thought that it might look pretty boring, just me on stage with an MPC.
I thought it would be cool if I could some how hook up my MPC (via midi) to something that will control video, so I could project video samples onto a screen on stage.

So, each sample played on the MPC would trigger a video sample.

Does anybody know whether or not this is possible?
If it is, does anybody have any knowledge on how to achieve this?

There's tons of both open and closed source software video apps out there that respond to midi. Timing response might be an issue. Depends on what you are doing.

I'm more into hardware. A while back I just barely had a chance to play with one of these:

Hope to again soon as I didn't get the chance to check midi performance. May have it's limitations but personally it's my first choice for a video gig with an MPC for reasons that just have to be obvious...

Yeah that Korg video line slipped under a lot of people's radar. Good stuff, very nicely built but not cheap which might explain why the production was so limited. I've heard they were going to bring the Kaptivator back at some point, which might explain why the product page is still there but the other video line units (the KPE1 Entrancer video Kaoss pad and the KF4 KrossFour video mixer) seem to be gone from everywhere but the support section. The manuals are worth checking out.

Another more common hardware alternative that's worth checking out is
the Edirol line of video performance products. I like that stuff too but I prefer the Korg gear if I can get my mitts on it.

That Korg Kaptivator thing looks fantastic. I'd love to see some decent demonstrations of it. There's only one video that I can find about it.
