Found a guy on ebay selling 128mb ram for the MPCs for $11 and free shipping, and he has 99.7% positive feedback. Does it seem legit? I'll take the bullet and give it a try and report my results with it if anyone is interested. The link I found is below.

SanDisk 8GB confirmed. Picked one up tonight, worked straight away. I'm pretty sure any CF card would work as I haven't seen a negative reply for a CF card yet!

hello yall
not sure if peeps are still looking at this thread. i skimmed through most of the 55 pages and couldnt find an answer. this is regarding CF cards as this thread seems to be more on the RAM side.

what specifications i should steer clear from when purchasing CF cards?? specs i mean like 80x, ultra II, showing faster data speeds etc.
there are so many on ebay and not sure which to choose from. i always used general rule of going with a brand name (sandisk, transcend, kingston, delkin) and it being 133x. i know not to do the cheap off brand blue cf cards as one didnt work for me in the past.

looking at 4gb or 8gb for mpc1000 with 4.99I 0S

any suggestions, what cards youre using, greatly appreciated

You know what!.... i had to come back to my own post on what to get!!! LOL!! aint that some shit!!1

anyway to answer your question, as long as its TYPE I or TYPE II it will be fine, though in the 55 page post, there were loads of people who bought CF Cards who actually posted images as well and have confirmed them to be fine, how did u you miss that??

PenFold.. out!

I know I'm late but here's a just so ya know. To my understanding, most cf cards are backwards compatible. It's like, they can wrote as fast as your machine can. But your machine ain't gonna reject it cause its too fast. Also, the mpc reads at 40x I think. Somethin like 56k a sec. Slow

I'm a little bit confused about the compact flash card. I haven't read through all 55 pages, but I used the search function to try to find the answer...

The MPC1000 specs say the maximum size CF card that can be used is 2 gigs, but I keep seeing people saying they use 8, 16, 32 gigs, etc... Do the larger CF cards work? Can it be used with the Akai OS, or does it have to be the JJ OS? I went out and bought a 2 GB and a 16 GB card today, but I'm hoping to figure out the answer to my question prior to removing them from their packaging.

Thank you in advance.

mumkai wrote:CF cards im using are 256mb SanDisk and 4GB Kingston

both work great.

from what ive read with transcend avoid 80x cards only get 133x, but that might be a rule for all. please correct if im wrong.

Bought a Transcend 32GB 133x card, did not work, but I dont know if the problem is the CF or the mpc, but my 4GB works great
