alternating pads to avoid wearing out

I've had my 1K for about 6 months now. When I'm making beats I like to drum them out on the pads but I worry about wearing them out. I try to create each kit in a different section of the pads so my most used sounds (kick, snare, hats, etc.) don't wear out the bottom 8 pads.

Is this necessary?

This is a newer model with the pad upgrade.

unnecessary with the new pad set. FSRs are extremely durable. whenever pads go out on proper FSR equipped MPCs, i doubt it's the actual sensor that goes bad. my guess is that usually it's the ribbon.
