And all I want to be able to do, is record beats onto my laptop. I'm not trying to be producer wonder kid. I just want to be able to keep a loose MP3 record of my work as I travel about. With the possibility of a vocal track.
Requesting a simple how to.

MIDI cables don't carry audio signals. There is no way you'll get audio into your computer with that cable, period.

Why is this the more than the 10th time in one week this same question has been asked, doesn't anyone even try anymore?!?

You will be needing some type of usb audio interface to route the mpc main outs and individuals outs into your computer.

The usb audio interface will show up as your soundcard (after configuring and installation) and you can route the audio interface channels to tracks in your daw.

You have a long way to go.

In your MPC you can also RECORD MAIN OUT to a wav file and it'saved on your CF. You can then usb transfer that WAV file to your computer :?:
