The first thing I want to point out is that we are all musicians, beatmakers, and producers who make music and it is the man that makes the music not just the gear.

Next thing is a remind everyone that it has already been posted in many threads and by the representatives that the new line and new direction for mpcs are going for software integration. The hardware market is sadly being discontinued. You, I or anyone else has any control of that except Akai. New users of the coming Ren/Studio are fellow music makers who are willing to give the new technology a run for it`s money for the sake of making music. New adaptors are not the problem, in fact they may save the company.

Third thing is that there are many testers working with the new mpcs to get it right. If they don`t get it right, then it is all she wrote. And we all would lose.

Fourth is the new mpcs have a dedicated thread for discussion on the workings of the new mpcs but also for suggestions for additions for the new mpcs. Everyone has an opinion however what is coming to the market is Ren, Studio and Fly. A whole new forum is dedicated to the new mpcs like every other mpc on the market. Realistically Akai gave us a early preview of the stated production unit before its release that isn`t going to change from now.

Finally Ren/Studio will use the same sequencer that Roger Linn invented, the sampler engine may be different in some aspects but the drum program layout and maybe the key group parameters will be familiar to most users. We can all agree it won't be the traditional hardware mpc, but the other point of view that differs from the hardcore is that it is a new mpc that will have the familiar workflow of traditional mpcs.

Using the new mpcs won`t be like using ableton sequencer, logic`s sequencer or maschines. Through all of these sequencers are great and have advanced abilities. The familiar mpc sequencer is very user friendly and easy to use along with the timing and feel. It is a question of whatever the user feels most comfortable with. Everyone can make music with anything.

This is a post on the reasoning and understanding of why many traditional mpc users are going to buy the new mpcs. No fanboyism, no hate, and just for the love of making music.

Now all of that said, if Akai were to have a change of heart, direction, and decide to go back to the drawing board and make a all inclosed hardware unit for mass production that would be great too I am all for it. But that isn`t what this thread or forum is about now. As it stands Ren/Studio/Fly are the guts of an mpc:

1 MPC Sequencer

2. MPC drum programs and keygroup programs

3. MPC style sample editing

4. MPC style pad assignments and track mutes

5. And new additions that haven`t been released.

Some may come with love of the new mpcs and some may come with hate for the new mpcs. But it is what it is for now software based mpcs with dedicated interfaces.

I am not out to change anyones minds especially my fellow diehard hardware users even I am not going to trade in my hardware 4k unit as I stated in many threads and I still use today. I am fine whatever direction Akai goes in. But I do want to discuss with fellow adaptors of the new mpcs on what additions can be made and how they plan to use the new mpcs.

All the woulda, coulda, shoulda talk really don`t add up to much really if the buyers of the maschines, sparks, geists, mpds with alternative software drum machines and daws come back into the mpc family. Many users were actually looking for this type of product. And if some want to hate me and others for that it is ok. It just gear and 5 yrs or 10 yrs from now they will get over it as the world changes under their feet.

To my fellow MPC users bang on and for the other I got nothin but love for ya:lol:

I moved it. It didn't need to be in public view anymore. Newcomers will come, see all the crazy shit, not a good look for the forum as a whole and a community.

you i'm cool with, Lamp... but Blue Haze is out of control. his way of coming at me today was totally uncalled for, and i would actually appreciate it if that thread was left for everyone to see just what exactly a particular moderator of these forums considers appropriate behavior. please move it back for all to see just how ridiculous this cockgoblin really is. i won't rest until his mod status is at least questioned. that was some One sh!t today for real.

Figures I never told you to STFU or told you to go **** yourself, you did. But I got nothing but love for you stalker even if your behavior is very rude, intense and odd. I am a regular user in the Ren Studio forum like you. If you act insane over mpc name I call as I see it. I`m not a mod here Sparq and Lampdog is. I`m not going to hold your hand. Cry on someone else`s shoulders, cats love to put out and I turn it on ya you go crying like the victim.

I will give you this though if Akai is successful in regaining market share and the they do a change and make a true hybrid hardware unit your idea is a great one.

However in the context of what they have developed and they are testing for the market they are going to release a software mpc.

I still got nothin but love for ya.

I still don`t get it though. You have a 1k or 25k or something, right ? You know that Akai stated that the hardware line is discontinued, right? You know that you can still make music with what you have, right? You are not going to buy any new mpc, right? If Akai changes and I am wrong and they change 5 yrs later building a hardware unit again you can buy that one, right? So what is with the hate and this latent grudge that came out of you when in my opinion the new mpcs are mpcs?

It seems unbelievable!

I got love for ya still as names never hurt me.

Anyways Akai has gone in a new direction and when it hits the market and if it is very successful then the I might even say that some hardcore fans may even convert to it themselves.

In all honesty, when creating this thread man you had to know that people would show up here, especially when it seems like a continuation/last word type joint ya know.

If you hate a product and the company that makes it...have no intentions on buying said product..and have nothing positive to say....why don't you spend time talking positives about a product that you love instead? :?

I know Lamp, I want to keep the thread and the forum about the positives of the new mpcs so even though dude yells, tells me to STFU and go **** myself I didn`t respond in turn just stated his rudeness and unbelievable logic of comparing two unrelated topics. And now he is stalking me too.

It is all good I got nothin but love for him.

interesting post Haze....
i didnt realise akai had come out and actually said the hardware line was being discontinued....in fact theyre apparently bringing out a new os for the mpc5k...i also didnt read that they had loads of testers....how many do they have?

>>Third thing is that there are many testers working with the new mpcs to get it right. If they don`t get it right, then it is all she wrote. And we all would lose.

hmmmm.....im not sure i follow your logic....how does a hardware standalone mpc fanboy loose , if akai fail with this line? It seems they have already lost, given your comemnt that akai have dropped the standalone model....

for non fanboyism...you certainly seem to be pushing this ren a hell of a lot

When all is done when change come along many are not open to new ideas, paradigms and ways of working but change comers and gradually after the intial phrases people will understand and except the units for what they are instruments same as the fans except the music for what it is music.

Everyone who buys a new mpc is buying a new mpc. Some may hate that statement but it all right for any user to enjoy and use the production unit of their choice. It doesn't matter what you have. What matters is what you make with it.

well this GAME CHANGERMPC is hardly new? it uses the same 25 year old paradigm....in a new suit.....

I dont understand why yer so emotionally involved with the ren....sure it doesnt matter what you use.....so why the continued defence and dare i say promoting of the ren by yourself....why not a more chilled approach like lamp & co ala lets wait n see......

Yes it was posted awhile back when the Ren was first announced.

We would lose if as the company has invested a lot of resources and time into the units and of course going after the software users would piss off a lot of traditional mpc hardware users akin to Apple taking over Emagic and dropping the windows users.

As from the rep I spoke with the gamble was to go after the software market as many users were jumping ship and akai was losing it share to the competitors. Plus the company had been moving as we noticed into controller market. If this doesn`t work that could be it for mpcs.

I pushed back back to state the idea and implementation works and that it is sound. There is nothing wrong with putting the software of the mpc on a computer cpu as long as it works well. A lot of people were saying it wouldn't work and it isn`t real but it does work. The key has been whether is worked as well as a all in one unit testing shows it just about there.

Most importantly anyone buying the new mpcs are producers that want to make music in the end so labeling it or arguing over the name is irrelevant as long as the music is good.

It is a great way to combine software tools and hardware workflow for those that want it.

People just need to get a hands on before judging it or those that will use it.

That is all the Ren forum was set up for to exchange ideas, give suggestions for now and talk with fellow users. I never see non 4k users in the 4k forums questioning whether it works as us owners still use it despite the so called buggy reputation.
