I originally posted this in the MPC2000XL subforum, but figured it was more relevant here...

Alrighty

So I managed to hook my MPC2000XL up to my Mac Mini via these MIDI to USB cables I found on the cheap on Amazon. After some tweaking I was able to get a signal and map some pads to audio slots. So far so good.

One thing I am wondering about...in the MIDI parameters in the MPC, I see that you can send MMC (I'm assuming that means Midi Machine Control? Could be wrong), and I see that you can assign 4 "switches". Out of the options it gives, I was able to set up play, play start, stop and overdub, but I don't see any kind of option to include the bar forward and backward buttons.

I also can't seem to control the tempo via the MPC.

I basically followed the steps for connection found on this page here: http://www.akaipro.com/syncableton.

Has anyone else been messing around with this and have some clues or insight?

Well I was really just trying to see if it was possible to use the transport controls (play, stop, rec/overdub) to control playing and recording within Live.

Since I posted I decided to stick with using Live only as a sound module and use the MPC for all of the sequencing, since I've gotten used to that workflow.

With Ableton Live 9 -i see that you can map these buttons of Ableton, im trying to map my mpc play button to Abletons play button, however its only allowing the pads of my Mpc 2000Xl to be mapped-
