Will the parts per quarter note (ppqn) be adjustable? This is a very nice feature to ad becuz the old sequencers on the 3000 was 196 i think

3k = 96 ppqn.

As far as mixing,I do it all day long, and if the workflow I mentioned can save me time, even minutes out of my busy schedule then I'm buying the ren.

Yeah, I get what you're saying, but I'm not even talking workflow. I'm talking mixing practice; proper signal routing to be specific. What you want is cool and may save you a few seconds, but it's really not the proper way to route audio, which is why I'm sure it's never been implemented. Although, there technically aren't any rules in the audio world... 8) To each his own and all that!

Exactly there are no rules, and that to me would help my workflow.. It would save me time routing so hence that it totally a better workflow! :D cheerz

I bet! Just bought my first Mac on Saturday. Originally planned on a Mac Pro for the studio, but I didn't wanna make such a huge transition for my main rig. So I got a MBP instead so I can ease into Mac OS and get the Mac Pro later! Pretty nice so far!

so are our friends from Akai still around?
I've been away from the forum for a while for work, so I know what it means to be busy, but I was wondering if there were some news about all the questions asked untill now.

thanks to Blue Haze for reposting mine, I'm still really interested in getting an answer when Andy and Dan will have some time.

EDIT:
I've seen some of the newer vids and I guess I have an answer (a sad one) to one of my questions...
the internal routing of the sound...
in this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ubI87Ic4bI at 7:58 Andy says "we can sample externally [...] or resample internally if we have done some plug-in eq and compression on some of the drums ..."
I guess that means the Ren can't sample internally... I mean, if I play a MP3 or a movie on the comp to which the Ren is plugged in, I can't sample them as I would be able to do with a vinyl... that's really a big problem for me...

this is one of the feature I'd need the most, I really hope Akai will shed some light on it.

Looks like it's back to the lab, without an MP to grab, then I utilize all the gear I had. One after the other one, then I ask if Akai made another one. I get a craving like nicotine but I don't need a cigarette, know what I mean?

Oh and Ansiaaa, I believe what you're thinking is possible, by taking an MP3 or vinyl RIP and converting it into .wav format, and just opening it through the Renaissance software.

think about it for a second... how are you hearing the said sound? it is coming from an audio output of the computer... now take that and plug it into the ren input and sample it.

Will the REN have transport control in DAWs? big one for me,and if not I'd probably pass,I'm not looking for another standalone option,as I already own Maschine.. lol

If it's anything like the real mpc's we should at least have cmidi clock, hopefully mtc

So many questions, so many uncertainties....I know..lets make a video of pink flashing pads...that will answer a lot of critics :!:

it just seems like old akai again....we have dan aka paris in here, going on about how they admitted things were done badly in the past, but that he was on a mission to set things straight...i guess he got sidetracked doing shotouts in his latest video lol

just as well they dont have their OWN akai forum.....cos they are piss poor when it comes to the mpc community

Why do you care what we preordered or what Akai does? You already told everyone hundred times you are not buying one of these new MPCs....
