Someone gave a link to conrad in germany for the Addonics one:

In this topic:

Conrad don't give a lot of details but it seems it's the Addonics ADIDECFB, which is the cheap one that works with the 2kXL. Maybe contact'em before buying.

Not hot swappable though.

you have to get an addonics ADIDECFB

http://www.addonics.com/products/adidecf.php

you can order it from conrad, it's the right one

installing is simple, but you have either to drill two holes oder go the quick and dirty way like I did with sekundenleim (to fix it to the metal braket supporting where the floppy is screwed)
I bought a 2 GB transced card from renato rizoli and it works, I also tested sandisk 4 and 8 GB cards, all three works.
Just format the card with the mpc and you're ready to go, my win7 64 bit studio computer detected the card and I can copy all the files I want on it and then load them on the mpc.

good luck!

oh okay, so dont even look at any of those IDE or ATAPI card readers... they wont help you at all.. only the 2000xl has the IDE port.. the 2000 only has scsi... no IDE.

hey,
i have a 2000 XL and i would like to easily transfer my cut and made samples as files (rather than audio) in the mpc, to my mac. (have recently started to play around with cubase and reason)
so and am on the hunt for a SCSI to USB as well.
WOULD THIS WORK, I am asking you guys?
will the mpc show up on the desktop you reckon, so it is just for me to click and drag??
or am i just dreaming and hoping for the best here?
the mpc i use has an internal ZIP drive by the way if that makes any difference.

Have found a SCSI to USB cable at amazon and just want to hear an opinion before i order.....
cheers and happy easter!

I don't think anyone has gotten the SCSI to USB cable to work on any MPC.
If you had a SCSI card reader it could probably work but that's a whole another story.

cheers for reply!
since there is a scsi entrance at the back of my mpc, I want to make use of it.....but please tell me what i can use it for? lol :D
in all honesty I am embarrassed to ask but what was/is the idee for it in the first place?
for external storage?
there is already an existing internal zip drive in place.
or can i use it for something else?
cd reader, external zip, floppy...? please give me an idee.

Yes it's for storage with devices like zip, jazz and cd reader.

Not all SCSI storage devices work I think though.

Like I highly doubt a DDS or a DAT 72 would work.

okidoki, thanks for kind reply.
just to make sure; there is no known way of having my mpc, (in reallity; the omega zip drive), to show up on my mac?

I have to store samples on an external storage device, and then connect this device to my mac in order to transfer my cut and ready to go .wav samples.
Do I understand it correctly??
