sure akai are out to make money and put out a product that will sell the most so if what ur saying is true why did they not produce the unit u speak of?

what would be the production cos of producing such a unit?

take a standalone unit with vst support like the neeko?

how much did those units sell? the cost of production was high,

so the units had a way higher retail cost and as a result they sold less

subsequently the company is out of business

Aaaawwww!! Come on lads, it took me ages to photoshop this, I'm wanting my money's worth out of it.

Haha good work LZ. I like this a lot! I think there should also be a regular HDMI output or something too in this imaginary world so we can plug it into our telly for those without an iPad.

I also think it'd be better to have Lexicon PCM effects as opposed to MPX.

I honestly dont have any faith whatsoever in Akai as a company....just dont trust them...What if the new mpcs have pad problems (defective pads)? They'd probably charge customers another $180 to fix a defect and sell brand new machines fixed (not upgraded) at the same price as...... (sorry still a pissed off mpc1k (defective pad) buyer).....sorry i had to :x

Everybody knows about the pad flaws of the original MPC 1000...it was over 7 years ago. Nobody who bought a brand new under warranty MPC had to pay $180.

Akai has since released the MPC 2500 and MPC 5000. I owned both of those units and the pads work as well as any MPC I have ever owned.

Now while you are here in the MPC Ren forums, spend some time watching all the videos posted of the MPC Ren in use. Akai has set out to make this a high quality product...from the new data wheel design and the pad design. Alot of effort has gone into improving the performance of the new pads.
