MPC Chassis rattling

Is it normal for the MPC 2500 chassis to slightly rattle (I believe it's the top sheet metal bit) when being firm with the pads? It's a new unit, I'm the first owner. It's nothing that's really observable if you are using headphones or speakers but quite noticeable if the keypresses generate no sound.

Perhaps opening it and tightening down some of the stuff inside would help?

Think I was just bottoming out too hard on the pads and more or less ratting stuff that was on the same desk. Still need to learn to find the 'sweet spot' where I can get 127 velocity consistently. I have JJOS, perhaps I'll try tweaking the sensitivity. Also planning on getting those fat pads from mpc-stuff, worth the investment?
