question for iRIG MIDI or line6 MIDI mobilizer users

I've been using my iRigMIDI with other hardware , but have come across a problem when using it with the MPC.

The MPC does not recieve any MIDI data - I've tested it using OS2XL, OS1 and even the akai OS (shudder).

If I route it to the computer first, the MPC does receive DATA, but for my intended use that kind of defeats the object.

Does anyone have experience of direct MIDI control using either of these devices?
I assumed it would be compatible with any 5pin din MIDI device - it works with my PDX3000 and my mopho keyboard for instance, just not the MPC.

Any thoughts?

My line 6 midi mobilizer did send and recive midi, and it the first model. Both with my mpc and keyboard.

why not just use: camera connection kit -> usb to midi cable -> mpc ?

that's what i use. just make sure your usb to midi cable is 'plug & play' (doesn't require drivers) and it should work.

This is what I do.

Because I already have the iRig midi and it works with everything else (mopho keyboard and Reaper are both responding as expected) I'm going back to the shop today to see if I can try another unit.

But yes if that doesn't work then I could try the camera kit option . Does that allow MIDI in & out too , cause that's important for what I'm doing?

Ok, so after testing at the shop it turns out

1.a brand new iRig midi behaves the same - the MPC receives nothing.

2. a brand new yamaha -i-mx1 works- the MPC receives as expected.

3. the mpc 500 receives MIDI as expected

if anyone has got the iRig MIDI working with there 1000 id be interested to know.
