I know, not an mpc question but has anyone used or know of the new logic express, I'm considering buying but I need to know if it has EQ on each track.

anyone f' with pro tools (yo, hows that for product placement, it's not even pro tools) logic express, I looked at apples website and it seems that you don't get the eq you get with the pro version. I hope you understand this shizzle, I can't see the keyboard and I've drunk way to msny guineseesses

Anyway, you get the channel eq with logic express which is a pretty good eq. And yes you can put one of em on every track you have. Here's something to consider though: with logic express you get the exsp24 the sample PLAYER, not the SAMPLER. That means you can only play samples that are already made for the exs24 and not create or edit new ones. Bummer.

haha, not an alcoholic I promise.
thanks for the tip, you wouldn't be able to play existing .wav files for example? its not the end of the world, I do my work on the mpc, I only need logic to mix down.

I use and like using logic but I'm not sure its what is going to be best for you in this situation. The compressor and reverb units that come with express aren't too hot and I'm pretty sure you don't get the ad-limiter. So home mastering won't be too sharp. The eq is good though. And you'll be able to track with it.
I guess what I really want to say is that Pro is a pretty good deal and they'll probably have you hooked enough to upgrade soon or ProTools is also a good option.
And yes, you won't be able to sample wav files into the exsp24.

I'm pretty sure you can. I use exsp24 in Cubase, and you can load wav. You just can't edit them.
oh, and if you own ReCycle and exsp24 you get double the fun....You can export chops straight into exsp24, and play them back with your mpc. No more messing with zips or floppies.
