i just bought the 8 outputs for my 2000xl. i saw the thread that was suppose to have pictures to help install the 8 outs. i have searched on google and couldn't find any type of tutorial. can someone help me out with installing my 2000xl?

Yo, I've tried searching for a thread about how to install the 8 outputs in the 2K classic. I can only find a guide for the XL. Is there a guide with pictures around here? I can't find nothing but I recall seeing one haha.

I've also been through the manual, there isn't anything of note in there, can anyone point me in the right direction? Nice one and sorry for bringing up a dead as fook thread...

Also, I can take some pictures of the inside boards if anyone wants good quality photographs.

Hahaha, I'm half way through doing it Lamp! I'm just unsure about which way the ribbon cable goes in... I just don't want it to blow the R32 fuse up or whatever it is...

I can fit it to the main board just off the shapes but I don't know which end. Does it matter?

Hey I highly recommend you take a few photos.. take a snap shot of the whole thing, the end of the ribbon and the connector. Maybe someone will be able to let you know by seeing that. There is quite a lot more work getting into that part of the classic than there is on the XL.

Yo, nice one mr_debauch, I've installed it! All is sweet and running perfectly, now I just need to pick up my mixing board from home. I can now see how these 8 outs sound running through my Mackie...

I've been into my 2000 before, to install extra RAM. I just wasn't sure about the ribbon cable, I just cross-referenced a shitload of pictures off of Google, piece of piss really!

xl easier than the 2k with that 8out board install. I knew you'd see it and realize it was easier than you thought. A lot of things are.

Yeah it was pretty easy. It's just the guide I found was for an XL so I assumed that a couple of things could of been different. I installed the RAM myself so it's not like I hadn't opened the 2K classic up before. My mate took the board out of his XL, which was very easy, before giving it to me.

I guess I was just worried about burning some components out after reading some horror story posts on here hahaaa.

Like mr_debauch said also, the innards in the 2K are a little different and that's what had me at first. Anyway, all is well! Gonna boom some Klemmer!

well the classic you gotta take off the top case bit ... as you know... then remove the pad area and all that to get access to the main board..

where as in the xl, they mounted the main board upside-down so all you need to do is take off the bottom plate and you're in... there aint even a bottom play on the 2000 classic hahaha...

glad you got it working though.
