game over

Hi I got another problem. Suddenly my MPC started opening the erase window when I have hit the 16th pad. I tried to power it off and then back on with erase button. MPC has shown me message:
MPC1000 BootBlock ver. 1.03
Boot on OS update mode
A CF card isn't insterted
Please insert CF Card

(I don't even use that, cause I got HDD), so I slapped MPC then power it off and back on. Everything was alright but few minutes later every touched pad has launch erase window or T.C. window or sequence list. Now MPC launching this 3 windows and turning it round and round automaticly. I don't know what happened and how to fix it.

And why am I called this post game over ? When I was trying to fix it in mode+pad10 in pad section I saw the game like DX-ball. When I was hitting the pads it has been playing samples and hit the ball. I lost 3 lives and then MPC has displayed info "game over" 0_o

Any Ideas ?

Seriously, it isn't a joke. It happened all time now. It doesn't matter which button I push. MPC started to rebel...

Sorry. I don't know what is going on with your machine. But sometimes when I'm in a meeting and our sales rep tells me that our competitors are going to kick our ass with their new product line, I like to stand up, throw my arms in the air like a pimp and yell, "Game over man".

What's up bruh, I've seen this before so Ima try and point you in the right direction. Somewhere you have a poor ground to your PCB board (im not 100% but I'm almost certain) and possibly a bad connection to the main board. Unplug the power cable and remove the top cover from your MPC. Then very gently tighten each screw on the board then disconnect and firmly reseat the ribbon cables (top right of the PCB and lower left). Once that's done flip the MPC over and reseat all the ribbon connections on the back side going to the main board and card slot. Once that's done slide the face plate back on without the screws, plug in the power cord and hold erase while you power on. This should work if it doesn't recheck all the connects then completely "remove" the screw in the top right corner of the PCB ( I had to do this and haven't had an issue since, knock on wood) then retighten all the screws on the PCB without stripping them. This should work let me know how it turns out and careful if you haven't taken the faceplate off before remove all screws and the plate will come off "easily". Good luck let me know how it turns out....

I was trying to pull few cables but I'm affraid that I will destroy it. Maybe there's a special way to do it ?

Sometimes you just feel that you have to do it, nothing funny man

I removed the cover, cleaned everything (3rd time from date of buy) and now it's all right. Easy come, easy go. But It still annoying that one time per month I have to look inside and thinking what's wrong.
