I know that its not on the input/output since it has none, but can you still put the effect on the drums in the software?

Ren, most likely close but will never be the same unless the exacts same components are used form to to bottoms

I can't imagine how this feature will negatively impact these new products. The idea actually came from on the the producers that Akai consulted with in the MPC Ren's development. Although definitely now one of my must have features, I think it is a nice touch to add emulations of legendary MPCs.

i agree on the bite them in the azz remark.
first of all i dont see it living up to the "hype", as a feature...
and second of all, not sure how a controller can emulate "color" of sound... but im sure thats been explained somewhere already and im just not informed about the plans for this mpc...

If im not mistaken, the VINTAGE MODE starts at a 12 bit emulator (and probly goes LOWER)...and even a novice producer can tell the difference between 12 bit, 16 bit and the top end of what this unit will be: 24 bit converters!

not sure where the resentment to the vintage modes comes from i would suggest that certain peoples like to feel that the only way to get the mpc 60 or mpc3k is if u purchase the hardware units.
so some peeps go out and buy these hardware units thinking they have joined the exclusive club , then along comes akai with a hardware emulation in a convenient package no shit the dudes who bought a 60 and 3k are engraged and hence seek to trash akai for bringing the features to the masses.
and worse the vintage mode will keep adding other unique units such as the sp1200 and the s950.
now we know in the past the software based simulations have been avaerage at best i dont think the bettery or the maschine simulations were that great.
but not many of us have come across hardware simulations before and we dont know how good they can sound.
so the 3k/60 elitist have great anxiety about this and are seeking to rubbish it to protect they ego's and the other guys dissing just dont like the concept of the ren because it does not confirm to their vision of what and mpc should be ie standalone.

Simple. They need a reason to justify why they spent $1200 on their SP1200/MPC3000.
Bottom line: The consumer doesn't care what mystical, magical, vintage sampler was used to create the beat. Bet money waveform/sound comparisons will be uploaded within a month of the Rens release. Dudes need to stop focusing on precise emulation exactness and just make some dope music.
