Hey you people, Im planning on purchasing my 1st MPC equipment, either an MPC 1000 or the 2000xl. I went too a music store and they were telling me that the MPC 1000 doesnt have the timestretching option. But I just wanted too know if its extremely benefical too have that option, like do any of you MPC 2000xl users always use that option and find it extremely important too have. What else are some of the cons that the 1000 doesnt have that the MPC 2000xl does have.

Hit me back up

That's your machine, why wouldn't you want to do homework on it?

yo man is there something wrong with you? If you are going to get a 2000xl for free what the f*ck u want to go and spend your money on a 1000 for? When you have more features on the 2000xl than you will on the 1000? Why dont you go buy yourself a keyboard or a turntable to sample instead?

If your going to get the xl free from your homeboy cool, then do that.

Me, myself, I knowhow to use the timestretching but I haven't used it in a single complete song YET. I don't do many loops so I don't really need it. Still, if you have a PC just do your timestretching there instead, it's WAY faster and will save time anyway.

Battery support, you'll just have to do with the plug. I think if it had batteries it would eat up the juice so fast it's crazy. The 1k is not like a small DR-5 or something, it's a monster way deeper requiring way more juice ya dig.

The question shouldnt be what is the better machine but what machine will over all make things easier for you. I use my 2k xl for midi use with my motif es and nord lead. I dont sample nothing other than one hit sounds and drums. When it comes to midi and using a mpc its more about you the person and your playing skills than what the mpc could or couldnt do. When it comes to sampling then thats a different question. At the same time a mpc 4k and no knowledge of music aint gona make you better. If your gona become a sample geek you need to know the in and outs of music. you need to be in a elevator and hair the music and know who sample it. You need to know what a 60 can do and what it cant do and the same for every other mpc. this way you can really know what a 4k can do for you. I never upgraded just cause i do mor midi than sampling and to this day when i ask people nobody can tell me who a 4k or mv is gona make me better.

Check my signature, I put it there so everyone will know what I'm working with. Some stuff is common among all the MPC's while other stuff is specific and I can't speak on it at all, understand. Also, I have thumbed through some interesting pages in the 4k and 1k manuals so I can only state what I've read ya dig, I know everything isn't in the manuals and I don't even go there.

Yeah, it's all about the way you wanna work. I got 3 machines but I don't use them all together cause I like to concentrate on 1 machine at a time and tweak it to death if I possible 8) . I really LIKE knowing my machine(s) but I don't know everything, one day I will but by then it will be 5 other MPC's on the market :( . EVERYONE should be investing time and research into their machines and techniques cause we all didn't buy these expensive machines just to ask questions and not KNOW the gear intimately. Too expensive to be a holiday hobbie..

It's one thing to hunger for knowledge and another thing when u wanna be spoon fed *not directed at anyONE, but if u feel bad then it might be u* :? .
