Mine never did this, but Jah said he had that problem too. I actually haven't had any problems with the software, bug wise. It does lack a few basic features I would like, but it's been very reliable for me, on two different computers. Have you tried using it on the latest software version?

yea i tryed it os lion .. and same thing .. i dont wana change the topic . i just thought someone knew a quick fix .. i have a new maschine .. collecting dust . cuzz i get frustrated .. and cant work like that .. thats why im takin out some of my anger out on the ren lol i never had a glitch with hardware ... other than losing beats on floppy disk ... i love abelton live never had a prob with that .. now speaking on abelton live .. since they are working with akai .. one thing i like about abelton is .. my comp can crash .. and i will never lose the beat .. it has audio save or some shit like that .. thats dope .. i hope the ren will have this .. and the maschine froze up on a couple of time .. and i lost the beat .. i was pissed .. i never lost a beat in abelton live .. only time was .. when i changed hard drives and thought i saved all mt beats .. but i didnt know i have 2 . press collect all and save all .. also in abelton live .. i can press undo . and go back as far as i want .. with out starting the whole beat over from scratch .. i hope the ren can do all of this !!!!

I meant the latest Maschine software, 1.7.2.

As for losing beats, I save like every time I lay a new pattern or tweak a parameter! Unlike the MPC, stopping the sequencer and going all the way into the save menu, Maschine/software is just a quick press of CTRL+S (or shift+save on the Maschine hardware) to save without losing an idea. Haven't lost a single beat to software. And I keep a double of my audio drive with all my sessions! Fingers crossed!

I just picked up a mint casio VL-1 with the pleather case and both manuals... 3 bucks.. it came with new batteries fully working.. the bonus... it's also a standalone calculator!

Yeah....I do have issues with sample editing on Maschine. I posted my problems in the NI Forum and got no replies from NI or any other Forum Member. I had planned to test it out on a Mac but haven't gotten around to it.

I'm borrowing a Maschine right now and so far, I like it. It has some really nice features and it feels just as responsive as the MPC. More polyphony, more effects, no more midi sync/tracking, extremely portable. The sequencer is dope, but I don't like how it feels. Its hard to explain. Maybe its too precise, but with quantize off, it just feels like my notes are still off a little. I don't like the drums, but you don't have to use any of the included sounds. The pads feel too sensitive and lack bounce, but what I don't like I can get used to. The pros outweigh the cons.
If you don't need to import your old beats made on the JJ OS, there is no reason NOT to buy a Maschine. Bottom line: Its cheaper, rich in features and the developers continue to update the OS. My 2500 still works, so I'm not buying anything new till the data wheel falls off.

I found the opposite with the quantize off. On the MPC, I was able to get most notes where I want them to sit, even with quantize on. On Maschine, I had a hard time adjust to it's quantize and getting to notes to sit where I liked them with quantize on. So turning quantize off in Maschine completely helped that aspect. However, once I started fooling around with Maschine's vast amount of swing settings, I found I was able to start getting some quantized stuff sitting where I like. So it's mainly just a difference in feature and learning a new method than once being better than the other. Using and MPC for half your life, you know exactly which swing settings give what results. So going to a completely different swing method just takes some getting used to.

As for the sensitivity of the pads, I agree. I hated that shit. I was double triggering notes all the time because of it. I just turn down the sensitivity and set the velocity curve to Linear. Feels just like an MPC now!

@DJ HELLFIRE im got the latest Maschine software, 1.7.2. .. with os lion .. and it still does the same thing .. (sample edit problems) ..i have not called them . i just got pissed and . put it back in the box .. but now that im clam again ima call them lol

Just installed Maschine on the MacBook and chopped up some shit. Couldn't reproduce that chopping bug! Surprisingly, the controller pads are extremely responsive on the coreaudio driver!

The whole chopping bug can be fixed by using the mouse to get fine detail after the slice points have been set. Because when you hold a transient down and then press a pad, it **** everything up. You have to press the pad when you're NOT holding down the mouse, that's all.

Hmmm! I never used the mouse to chop. When I want fine detail, I just hold the shift button and turn the encoders! But then again, I can't duplicate this issue!

Ah I see. I use the Maschine Mikro and not the workstation one, so my approach may be a bit different.
