Luck with MPD and play + record buttons in DAW?

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone had any luck getting the record and play buttons on the mpd (I have a 24), to work with garageband or logic? I guess you can maybe program it by linking it to the controller... I have found it odd, that it just doesn't work after you plug it in. Any ideas...

I'm having trouble in Ableton myself. I cant seem to get the record button to work. If you go to the akaipro site for your product, there are very good configuration docs for your DAW. Definitely check those out.

In a nutshell though, you have to get your daw to accept not just midi controls but external transport controls.

make sure the MMC is turned on in the daw too

well I dont use this personally.. but once there was a thread about the 2000 asking the same thing so to help the guy out I decided to actually try and set it up myself.

I went into the midi screen of the mpc.. I turned MMC on... then in fl studio (the daw we were talking about at the time) I went to the midi section of the options/settings... I turned MMC on... that was it. It worked. I pushed play on the mpc transport... it triggered the play button in fl studio.

I know in version 9 and earlier on fl studio, the transport can only be triggered externally via MMC... not by midi cc notes. I know that because of when I set up my axiom 49 transport controls to work.
