sell mpc1000 for ASR-10?

Add the asr to your setup and sequence it with the mpc. You'll love yourself for not tossing THE GREATEST sequencer away.
I never once heard Dilla mentioning he has an ASR... not saying he doesn't but he never ever mentioned it to my knowledge.

This is the best option, You can get an ASR to sample still keep that MPC sequencer. I don't think you'll like using the ASR as a stand alone workstation, like someone stated earlier the two compliment each other!
