Just curious, how will the REN work with vintage mode if you already have a soundcard, for example, I have a rme fireface, which also is being connected to the AD/DA of Lavry Black's.

I don't use the converters in my fireface, but outboard. So how will the connections work with the REN if I want to use my RME for the driver, yet want the vintage mode for the content?

I think it's time to get some clarity on how this will work. In one video it was stated that there are vintage emulation effects that can be applied to programs in the software. Of course we know the Ren's sound card has output circuitry from the 3k built in so that is not a included when bypassing the converter.

But are there really going to be emulation effects that can be inserted in the fx slots?

the idea is every pad has 4 insert effects. we will have insert effects for each of the vintage modes, MPC3000, MPC60, SP1200. What you can do is if you want the snare to sound like a 1200, but the rest of the system to sound like normal, you'd put the SP1200 insert on your snare pad.

the individual plugins will be available shortly after 1.0.

They will be. Vintage mode is available for Studio. Renaissance will sound the most authentic, as its got the MPC3000 analog circuitry, but the Studio can definitely dial in vintage mode.
