Welcome.

MPC's are samplers too. 2500 is a good choice.

Okay, damn i actually didnt know that. I will watch some videos on that, thanks for replying so fast.

Do you think that the 2500 meets up with my 'demands'

Does the 2500 work as a 'computer' on its own or do i have to plug it into the PC? I need some more information about all those things. Because i dont own any kind of advanced gear so im a rookie on everything from cables to gear.

wait a minute... if you didn't know the mpc was a sampler... and you don't know what it does even after a year of supposedly wanting one... please explain why you think you need one. the pads don't have sounds on them when you first power them up. again.. how did you NOT know an MPC is a sampler!!?? ???

it sounds to me like it's just gonna give you headaches trying to wrap your head around it. if you don't have a clue, it's not an easy piece of gear to just pick up and make music with... you have LOTS to learn... maybe just stick with fruityloops and get a midi controller instead... if you like the idea of pads, AKAI also makes the MPD series... but those aren't samplers... those are strictly for controlling software and other MIDI gear... whereas an MPC is a great MIDI sequencer, but maybe not the best MIDI controller... hope that makes sense.

don't take this the wrong way, but MPCs aren't for everybody. you sound more like someone that could use a MIDI controller, drum machine, or rompler instead.

Okay, damn i actually didnt know that.
When you hear sound coming directly out of an mpc it's a sample.
If you didn't know that at all, you have A LOT to read up on. Don't buy when you don't know what something does, that's a waste of money right there.

Unfortunately most videos cause problems and answer nothing
because very people few explain, they just wanna show off.

If you don't know it samples and it does sample, I'd say yeah, it meets demands, lol.

Does the 2500 work as a 'computer' on its own
2500 can work as standalone and/or midi to a computer.

tweakheadz.com the newb section

So if im getting you right. I dont need any gear at all. I can just take my vinyls and just lay it on the MPC and it will sample the parts that i want, right?

since the thread just didnt give me much information about anything. Unless  that you guys explained for me that the MPC sample sound. And it didnt just arrive with a bunch of 'cool' hiphop samples.

i'll check around for specifics on the MPC's.. and choose from what i like. And as it seems now im going for the 2500.

Its called sarcasm, and stop being such a douche. Just try to be nice and help instead of ruining it.

You should stop adding posts like this.

wtf is going on, dudes??? did mac miller post a youtube video telling people to buy MPCs this week or something? i swear i'm gonna need a vacation from this forum soon... :!:  :o :?

IF so, do take a vacation you might be needing it, ur just coming of aggressive and pretty helpless. Seems to me you are just a ordinary posthunter..

And start with answering how to 'sample' parts from a Vinyl that i want into the MPC.

Show some respect and dont destroy my first thread here at mpcforums.

We've been getting a ton of snap-their-fingers and tell me everything I need to know types around here. Usually they leave after they have spent a considerable amount of money and quickly decided that it is the MPCs fault they are not immediately a producer. You're sort of coming off that way to be honest. Show some respect yourself and do some research and we'll try to help when you have questions. Not knowing that a sampler samples is not doing your research.

3. make money

Funny guy, i know i was coming of wrong from the beginning and i have said that. So can we please move on?

I just understood this one wrong.

Read to fast, thinking slow. I was thinking of getting Analog to mp3 (sample). And i do not own any kind of equipment since i wrote it, in the beginning.

And for the last time, i'm sorry for getting it all so confused and wrong.

But lets just move on..

Should i go for the 1000 now and move up after i have tried it? Or just go for the 2500 right away. I need more gear so, would be smarter for me if i bought the 1000 and got a Turntable record player?

Bless.

Get the MPC thats right for you, but truthfully, if you're coming from software and looking at an MPC and don't know what they are, then the MPC will fuuk you up. It'll bash your head in against your speakers then rape you with one hand in its pocket.

I recommend the Beat Thang.

Honestly though. mpc's can sample and have been known for sampling since forever and 5 days, yes exactly five days.

2500 is fine, if too muchf ro your budget go for the 1k, they are the same with minor hardware differences. They are they only two mpc's that are damn near identical with jjos from what I've read in recent years.

Do some research on gear your interested in BEFORE you purchase to save yourself money from purchasing wrong shit and then re-purchasing the right shit later on.

Always get something a little more than you can handle and a little more than you need because when you get serious you will grow into it (ask yourself are you serious and this is not just a fad/trend).

Read manuals on everything to get see what features are in the gear. Rely on self research instead of videos (I'm against the thousands of dumb ass videos where dudes just wanna hear themselves talk and the ones where they show off but don't explain).
