Noob question about mpc and upgraded pads.

Hi everyone I've been looking into getting a secondhand mpc. I've been reading up on how to tell if the pad upgrade is installed. sliding the bottom right pad to see if the adjacent ones move and obviously opening it up. Problem is some of the ones i'm concidering are at guitarcenter and i cant check them in person and sales men basicly give me the i think they moved answer. My question is there are two in particular i'm looking at (images below) Am i safe in assuming since they have had different colored pads changed in that it's a pretty good chance they have the pad upgrade? I havent seen colored replacement pads for the old pad set up. Also i used search but was having trouble finding does anyone know when the upgrade was phased in by serial number?

Guitar center will take it out of the case so you can check them yourself. Don't pay more than $400,for either of those. When you get it home, go through every switch and every output...GC has a return policy so make sure you can take advantage of it.

Original individual pads only come in light grey.
If it has any other colour pads, then it has the upgrade.

Thanks for the replies! The guitar centers that have them aren't my local one so its all based on over the phone descriptions. Can't wait to join the mpc club!

Probably would be a better move to shop for a black unit.
When I think of blue units I think $300 or less even with then new pads.
The blue units have seen a lot of birthdays, expect some weak switches and worn jog.
