Whatsup guys,

I've got a question regarding converting a song to a sequence. When i press MODE + PAD16 i go into song mode. Lets say this is my arrangement:

1 | 102.0 | 01-Sequence01 | 1 | 8 | 8
2 | 102.0 | 02-Sequence01 | 1 | 8 | 16
2 | | (end of song) | | |

Then i press CONVERT.

From Song: Song1
To Sequence: 03-Sequence03
_________________________
Track status: Referenced to 1st sequence

Then i press do it.

My 3rd sequence is now a 16 bar loop of the 1st sequence. It just repeats the 1st sequence 2 times. How come?

Thanks

The millionth time I've explained this

1. In song mode and when converted mpc's ONLY use the tracks assignments from the very first song step (very first seq in the chain) for the WHOLE song.

2. Solution, make sure all sequences have the same trk assignments as the very first one you use.
ie

Seq1/ trk1 snr/ trk2 kik/ trk3 tom/ trk4 hat.
Seq2/ trk1 snr/ trk2 kik/ trk3 tom/ trk4 hat.
Seq3/ trk1 snr/ trk2 kik/ trk3 tom/ trk4 hat.
Seq4/ trk1 snr/ trk2 kik/ trk3 tom/ trk4 hat.

*had to edit due to the typo's that beer brings*

3. Deviated from this.

This is true for the ASR10 and Korg Triton as well. Make ALL seq's in a song the SAME track assignments. Once you record on a track DONT change the track instrument/sample. Just move on to another track number.

Happy song converting.

I'm copying and pasting and hitting up some san diego brewski's with the wife so I am kinda buzzed but yeah, that's what I meant. Hope that helps and sets everything straight for you. I ran into that problem years ago and remembered it ever since.

Sorry for the typos man.
