I giggled at first but, after going to the page I slapped my self a little too hard...
My tooth is lose.
Anyway I would love to see in 1 year how vast the differences' are in processors on both platforms. What can't you do with these?

I am really considering geting a g3 laptop now. A g3 is basically all you need for a mobile studio..now. But in 3 years? who knows. The benchmarks are what got me. MAN!
If I had one of those I could....well...do a lot of net surfing.

Don't buy into all the hype yet. A dual 2GHz G5 with a 1Ghz front side bus barely outperformed the fastest pentium chip. By the way the 3.2 Ghz and up pentium 4's will have hyper threading built in. Look at the small print on the tests that were run; hyperthreading turned off; and a slew of other things that helped the G5 benchmark.
Play it safe; stay with the G4 if you have one; The developers just caught up to Jaguar; Developing hardware/software for a 64 bit chip architechture along with the new panther OS is going to be a couple of years off. Yes you can still run G4 developed hardware/software natively with the G5 (that's the least they could do)
There's still not enough audio units and now no OS9 boot. What the hell do you do with all those vst plugins that they haven't converted to audio units yet?
Proceed with caution!!!
Apple made a bold move and i respect them for it. By 2005 they should really have tripled their market share.
Interesing move for apple but I'll pass on the hype with the first cycle of G5's and the Panther OS.
