Yo xparis001 ! Will the REN be able to change the sample startpoint, chop starttime, for every sample in a program at once?

U can do this in the 4K and I think this would be really nice considering the timestrech capabilities of the REN.

U can change the "groove" of a chopped up loop by changing all the startpoints in the sliced loop a little bit. ecpecially if u done a little timestreching on the whole loop.

That is unique. The MPC 400 can change the Start point of every sample within a single program at the same time? How does it accomplish this? Qlinks?

Set program to All

Then set start zone to 6000 or more.

Go to qlink page set the parameter to all or the program you are controlling.

Set the assign parameter to zone 1 start.

Set the parameter range from 0 to 100

Set the control to be realtime for 100% control and tweak.

This is just one of the ways but the main point is to be able to control the whole program with All settings.

The MPC 5000 and Ren/Studio have global program editing.

But this seems different than editing the Sample Start points of all samples at once. What benefit do you get if you have a program full of drum samples and using this function to change the Sample Start points off all samples at once?

Use it with phrase or multisamples to change the sounds. Yeah you can change the different layers as far as drums. It is a sound shaping tool on many full samplers.

I see. Would you happen to have a link to a tutorial to show this in action on the MPC 4000?

you can do a velocity to sample start in program edit, and set it to all pads.

I know not the same thing, but worth mentioning.

you can also assign a QLINK to sample start, and set it to affect a whole program, which i think is closer to what you're asking.

Great cuz that is exactly what he was asking for. A little extra would be to modulate loop start! Is it able to do on the Ren?

Yes. this is it! sweet! thanx!

I think this type of function is mostly for people makin there own synth sounds with the 4K . changeing how the sample sounds when looping etc.

@xparis001 Is every sample parameter in the REN changable within a whole program?
