Being in tune is never redundant.Imagine you have a guitar and you want to just simply tweak it to resonate with your playmates/band and you have to go into a menu to just do what comes naturaly.Anyway all old synths and type machines had this easy important knob. So?

edit-Its like the breath/temparature of the instrument.Timing.One fully/small out of the way(on the back)dedicated knob and ill buy it. :D

Qwerty keyboard?

Um, no...I use the 2000xl, and to name the saved files, ya gotta press the pads like youre sending a friggin text message...

Now that theyve got the Renny Rens guts and brains inside the box, why not use its power to save the file when you close it to todays date, plus whatever number...
Like 05-02-12/ONE, 05-01-12/TWO, etc, etc...
And later, if you wanted to rename it, you double click that file, and use the keyboard on yer 'puter to rename it..

I know mate, but there's no letters next to the pads on the Ren. At some point you'll have to type in project names to save your beats, so I don't know if an automated system will be a winner or not.

For us who use MPCs live, we want to be able to load sequences (one by one is fine) while the sequencer is running.

Simple and INSTANT one footswitch PLAY START/STOP control.

Master Tempo for all sequences... This Opening a window to hit FIX is CRAP.

That's why I'm glad I can hook up a USB keyboard to my MPC 4K. Makes file naming a breeze.

Co sign and it is funny that anyone even thinking of getting a Ren or studio
would even consider querty keyboard when your gear is right next to your computer.

JAH wrote:I love feature requests and the addition of new functions.... :D

The only thing that concerns me are changes that alter what MPCs have always done in the past and/or lose functions that previous MPCs had.

1. The MPC 4000 has a great way to add Insert Effects while in Sampling Mode. Awesome! But the MPC 2500 and 5000 that came after it was missing this function.

2. Waveform editing....I am so thankful this was added back to the LCD of the MPC Ren.

3. Beat Loop Function. The MPC 2000XL can detect the tempo of a loop near flawlessly. I don't remember if the MPC 4000 can do the same...but no new MPC can accomplish this.

4. The MPC 2500/5000 not supporting the higher sample rates like the MPC 4000.

Just a few off the top of my head.....I believe that new MPCs should encompass all the features of past MPCs to the greatest extent. Then they will be more appealing tp a wide range of MPC users.

MPC 4000 BPM match feature is about as accurate as it gets. Just hit the BPM tab and it gives you the tempo of the loop instantly.

i think it would be dope if they implemented the turntable from the mpcFLY into the ren and studio software... to be able to throw ur sample material on a virtual turntable and say pitch up and down the sample b4 u sample ect would be a very great feature and be very handy.

I'm sure Premo would like that virtual turntable

I think it's a good idea combined with a sampling feature like this soundflower stuff.
By ddanielsbeats Mon May 07, 2012 3:35 am
and it shouldnt be hard to implement, were not talking about all full turntable features and effects, just the pitch knob like a 1200 , knob to speed it up to 45 and the scatch feature....
PLEASE XPARIS LOL

Isn't the turntable app multi touch? How will you control, cue, and scratch it by mouse?? I mean I have the djay app on my iPad and it is all hands on. But the same app desktop version is all. Clicky, clicky mouse. The ability to access your iTunes library like say in ableton to drag unto the sample edit or in the future os and audio track to edit seems more like a better deal. My two cents worth.
