because i have no place to appropriately post this on the forum.

more than just modifications.
there are many people involved in interesting projects on these forums, software and hardware.
with the advent of arduino, tablets, phones, and available parts, this forum absolutely needs a section for all things DIY.

really excellent aftermarket development collaborations could occur.

I think thats a good idea. ikea hackers and cheesycam.com are places I frequent. I'd love to have a place similar for MPC's and studio hacks etc. also the DIY acoustic panels thread seems to be pretty helpful too.

Almost spot on, but I'd be holding a Rubik's cube....

I want to set up a 'customization' sub forum, so the DIY stuff can go in that no problem, but really want to work out the best way to deal with all the existing customisation topics. So far, I've not heard a suggestion I'm 100% happy with. If I move them all into the new forum, will the MPC specific forums be missing important info? Those stickies have been there a while. If I duplicate, we end up with two separate discussions, so too fragmented. Or do we just have a sticky in the new forum with links to existing topics?

I'm open to ideas and someone has already provided me with a list of all the relevant existing topics, so it shouldn't be too much of a big deal to get it all up and running.

tutor, my input would be that it'd be wise to just let it populate on its own. leave the original stuff and let users just copy/summarize mods/strategies (and their developments) in the new subforum.

example: a new and consolidated mpc1000 silicone mod thread

I was thinking of the same thing. I'm on my second Technics 1200 mod for the power supply and LED's.
But I still got to finish my x0xb0x! It's going on 3 years and I still haven't finished it.

Today I'm working on the power cord mod:

I still have to screw mount the AC plug inlet to the frame for better security:

Power cord sits flush in AC plug socket:

Got to solder the wires to the AC plug, add ground wire, heat shrink and test her out.

I'm finally finished with the Technics 1200 AC socket mod with 3 prong computer power cord.
Camera sucks so it's kinda dark and fuzzy...
