A magic trick to repair the tact switches....
Before ordering new tact switches , you have to try to push back the square metal plate on top of the swicth with a tool (that will not screw your board). The pins under have to be not broken , of course. When the button (nipple) have been hit hard , it is the plate around it that pops up a bit and the contact does'nt work well .
I've been repairing a couple with this technique.
IF you have any questions.

For the other part of the topic, very interesting, I will order Arduino , to try to make some kind of "Drum Midi brain" , with some triggers. Lots of fun.
Trying too, to find links to program a air or optical type of trigger a bit like a theramin style of ribbon. Did'nt find yet witch piece to extend arduino to make it .
