So I'm in search for new audio interface, my current one is M-Audio FW1814.
I'm bout to update, cause the drivers are f'kin shitty, and it seems that the updates only make them worse .. [/rant]

I need multiple in's (~8), the cheaper the better.. Anything above 500€ is off limits.
I saw digi 002 for 150€ which looked like a good deal, but now I'm wondering If it's worth buying since I use allmost all DAW's except Pro Tools (Reaper, Logic, Live) and I like to keep it that way.
So the question is does digi002 work well with other daws? Are the mic pre's any good?

I don't use PT and don't want to ever use it so I'm thinking about picking up a Digidesign interface.

Not sure what $200USD can get you in your world but I wouldn't waste it on a old discontinued, no new driver support interface that I planned to use only with software other than theirs.

Actually the 002 has become a bad choice if you are using PT.
It was replaced by the 003 which has now also been discontinued so that gives you an idea of how Avid views it.

You could get it all set up and then get a new version of Logic that requires a driver that Avid will never make.
Just seems to easy a way to break your current setup.

yeah and M-Audio/Avid sucks
well maybe I start using pro tools, dunno..

I'm open for suggestions, But I'm not gonna pick RME interface no matter how good it is :D the price is too damn high.. Maybe a used motu..

Well Avid never started to manufacture the m-Audio stuff they just own it and the new Avid stuff is really good, way ahead of anything with a Digidesign name tag.

Since you are being cheap and proud of it  you could grab a used 828mkII and get it modified by Black Lion and have a killer unit based on your max which was about $650USD.

MOTU stuff always worked well for me on the Mac and I am thinking your goal is sound and stability.
