You gotta make beats using these records/categories. Everything is pretty much game as long as you can explain where the samples came from and that they are justifiyable to the categories......try to keep them vinyl samples.

Records & categories:

piano solo: basically any type of piano solo record.

Beethoven: anything that is Beethoven

1980s soundtrack: anything from 1980s

Funky drummer: If you can freak it

WE got all month, but lets try to work a little faster. Maybe dont go to china :x if ya know?! unless itll work :D

Hi Cyrus,

I just saw your other message right now, just letting you know I wasn't trying to avoid picking out some records for this month. Though I'm glad you did it. I've never looked through my 80s records even though I have some. So I'm looking forward to it!

On a side note does anyone remember that song 'Rock Me Amadeus' by by..... damn I have the record in the other room. Yeah, that was a dope track. Does that qualify as rapping?

hey,

do you want to add some records? I just figured id get it going.....
anythings game, so whatever you want. PM me and i can edit my post

Yeah, I tried to pick ones so that We all get motivated to get out of our normal ruts and check shit out.......Lots of times when i dig, i just go to the music section i luv(orchestral)......and im probably passin up tons of shit.

I know lots of dudes stray away from soul and funk, because they dont wann be like everyone else; but even a used sample can be freaked differantly.

I would definately like to see some funky drummer entries

Peace!

good looking out man

I finished the track, but now i have a problem. I don't have any webspace, and i can't upload it to a sounclick cos i flipped an accapella over it and forgot to record an instrumental before turning of my mpc
Any ideas how i could get this thing online?

i signed up for the Tripod thing, but they kicked me off after about 10 minutes. They said i was breaking their rules. I just posted one single mp3, and that's it.

I've had it with this internet thing, i'm going to make a big pot of coffee and play records all day.

Hold on. I think it's working now......
The beats at http://homepage.mac.com/ieism/

I've used an Eric Sati piano sample and added some bass. there's some Beethoven strings from no. 3 violin concerto, and a kick and snare from a german 80's record. I didn't have funky drummer, but i copied the kick/snarepattern on some parts of the track.
Then i flipped an accapela over it. Lemme know what yall think, critique is always good.

Hola muchachos,

Its getting towards the end of the month. I'm posting a loop made with an 80s sample:

http://www.assfat.org/music/AlltheWay.mp3

I don't think 80's samples make for great hip hop tracks. But give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Ieism, I'd like to hear your track but at 3.1 mb and me with my 56k modem it might take a week. It's a shame soundclick wasn't working for you. You read what other people wrote and I'm just like damn, I bet that track is awesome.

Well what else did I want to say. Oh, only that a couple of people mentioned that this might be one of those beat battle competition things and I just wanted to point out that since ieism said he liked my track last month:

That Makes Me Round 1's WINNER!

(don't hate)

peace

ps. cyrus, dj ede you guys gonna make it this month?
