xparis001: Will the plugin be able to send transport control

Will the Mpc ren software working as a plugin in a daw be able to send transport controls to daw?

What options have you come up for daw users who won't be using the mpc ren in standalone,but yet strictly daw work,and who really need this feature?

I too will be using the MPC Ren COMPLETELY inside of a DAW and need transport/tracking information. If the Ren can't do even this efficiently, oh man,

...then there is always Maschine. But Machine can't control the transport of a DAW when used as a VST...and NI indicates they will never add it.

I've asked this question a long time ago and never got an answer, please shead a little light on this grey area

DJ Hellfire,this was what I'm hoping for,that Akai has come up with a unique method for their plugin working with midi.As many of us work strictly in daws,and would need this.
Fwiw the last few days I've tried working in maschine standalone and I can't stand it lol The standalone ren would be in the same boat for my workflow,thats why I need it in the daw.

Studio One is just miles better,and it's my choice of daws.I'm gonna try and find some answers from some dev's.

I hope there is a way Akai can add this (my clear position before someone tries to distort it ).

Really? It's the opposite for me. I can't stand using Maschine inside the DAW. I love having the complete control of it outside the DAW. Inside Pro Tools, none of the key commands work inside Maschine, like copy, paste, save, etc. Also, on PC, you can't start playback of the session with the space bar if the mouse is clicked inside Maschine. You have to click the mouse inside Pro Tools to be able to playback the session. However, I've notice on my Mac, the spacebar works for playback whether focused in Maschine or in Pro Tools. But there's still no key commands! So I find it much easier to just finish the project in standalone, then track within the DAW after.

Yeh for me, Maschine is too basic in standalone,I can't mix in it at all, timestretching is a total mess. I prefer to work with Maschine in a daw, because I'm not sequencing in maschine, but only chopping samples, and tracking drums using maschine as a plugin in S1, to me the sequencer in S1 is much better. Maschine is in Sounds to Midi Notes mode, and I use the faderport for transport controls.

I'd prefer it if AKAI could use it's own transport on the box as a plugin.

Standalone Maschine just doesn't do it for me, I used to be able to work in apps like that, eg:reason, about 8 years ago,I couldn't go back to standalone apps, if I wanted to.
Too much going on in my daws to lose that power now.

Yeah, timestretching in Maschine is a **** project. They have some shit call UVI workstation you can timestretch with. I've had success using Melodyne studio as a plugin and timestretching with that. You insert Melodyne, set up the routing for transfering into Melodyne, then record into Melodyne, stretch, and then record back to a pad and chop. Too much work IMO!

Right, this is why I prefer the daw for this.

Any idea's xparis regarding the original question about support for transport control in daw?

The Akai website,says the REN has Transport Controls: MIDI Machine Control

Does this mean in daws functioning as a plugin, it will able able to do this? via sysex? or? Mtc? CLOCK?
