MPC Data Retrieval

I recently discovered that more than a few of my mpc3000 floppy disk won't load. I just ran across this software http://www.jufsoft.com/badcopy
...and I'm hoping to get some feedback on it.

I would have to purchase a USB floppy drive to try it out. Would any drive suffice or will I have to shell out $60 to mpcstuff for a specific drive? Thanks for your help.

I tried a demo of the software and it didn't work.

When I try to load in the mpc3000 it says the disk isn't formatted. Chances are a few of these disks were saved using a mpc60II while others were on this same machine.

I hate to lose all of this material, any suggestions would be appreciated.
